As a high school student, I took classes in Art, architecture and mechanical drafting. Upon graduation I choose to continue my interest in the arts by studying graphic design.   In 2005, I earned a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Eastern Kentucky University.  My mother was a high school art teacher for 30+ years and my father, a master electrician.  This gives me the unique ability to appreciate the artistic side of the business and to also solve problems with the technical side of the business as well.

After working in a similar business for 11 years and managing the day-to-day operations for over four of those years my wife and I began to look into the possibility of starting Prosigns, LLC.

Our first day open for business was January 2, 2012.  In a small rented office space located in Southern Hills Plaza. When we first opened it was just myself with help from family when needed. That following September we hired our first full-time employee due to the growth of the business in all areas, especially vehicle graphics. In February 2014 we purchased and renovated the former Mike’s Warehouse Liquors building on Big Hill Ave in Richmond, Ky.  This new location offers a garage where vehicle graphics can be installed without relying on the cooperation of the weather, in addition to more than doubling our office space. This new building has allowed for growth in the number of employees and equipment to meet demand. In August 2015 a CNC router was purchased giving Prosigns greater fabrication abilities.

Shortly after hiring our first employee Greg Snowden came on as part time help to run service.  Greg and Jason had previously worked together for many years at a similar business and had working relationship to push the service aspect of the business ahead.  When Greg started with us, we had one bucket truck reaching 42′. In Dec 2014, after bringing Greg on board we had the need to buy a crane truck for installation of signs.  In August 2015, Greg retired from his full-time job as a paramedic with Estill County EMS and became a partner in the business.  Greg now oversees the service and installation at Prosigns and helps our staff with the daily duties. Along with this change from part time to full time for Greg, Prosigns found the need to buy a larger bucket truck reaching 60′ with a two-man basket.  This allowed for expansion in the signs we can service and the number of crews we are able to send out.

In October, 2017 Prosigns purchased property at 826 Heath Street. The front building (formerly Yesterday’s Bar) is utilized for storage of our large shipments of signs for installation. In back of that building we built a four-bay metal garage to house our two bucket trucks, utility truck, and our 110’ crane truck that we currently have. One bay also serves as an installation bay. The temperature controlled 20ft x 50ft installation bay with its 14ft tall garage door makes even large vehicles and equipment easily decorated or wrapped during all weather.

At Prosigns we are a very family-oriented business. As many of our customers can tell you any given day you can walk in and find two kids playing. We think of our customers as family too. Our continued growth has been solely based on the word of mouth from our repeat customers. Whether you have been a customer since day one or for a month we thank you for your part in the success you have given us.  With your continued Prosigns will continue to grow and expand its abilities.
